Beginning the Journey

My first AP Concentration piece.

This piece is meant to symbolize my journey from childhood toward adulthood.
The fairy tale relation in my piece utilizes metaphors and elements of fairy tales. It is about a girl who is leaving childhood to grow up and enter the realm of the unknown world of adulthood. The castle represents her childhood and purity, and the bridge she is crossing is a sword, which represents adventure, and possible danger. The forest she is heading towards, called the Forest of Once-Loved Toys, is the unknown world she is heading towards, and forests and woods in fairy tales are often settings of danger and adventure.
