Beneath the cold sun
The golden cruelty of his burning, icy grin
Reeking knives to impale me
Slaughter me stretched and roasted
Sink and fly into ashes
And fall up
Into where the dead can go

Silver ShipSilver sapphires of wind rivers
Blow softly along ribbons of lace
In a dream, snatch away
My slumbering visions deep in sleep
Silver masts gleam with their goals
Calling for me to sail away
Deep, deep into the violet spirals
To live for
The flight upon the ship
Into the golden sea

I spent between 3 and 4 hours painting this today. I spent about 2-3 weeks working on this, and I am FINISHED! I am so happy!

This is my 8th Concentration piece, titled Carousel of Time. My family was getting really tired of the moodiness that was plaguing the rest of my works, so I found the Steampunkism contest and decided to try something different. This piece symbolizes that even as time goes on, I can still be a kid at heart and enjoy life. Thus, there is a more cheerful spirit in this piece, compared to the other pieces in my concentration so far. I don't think the next piece will be as light-hearted.

. [link] I am just SO happy I finished my painting before November 20! I was really worried that I would not make it. I just hope that there are enough steampunk and impressionist elements in this piece.

This piece is just amazing - it's so dream-like and fantastical, and makes for a very ethereal work of art. What I like about it most is that while it includes Steampunk elements, it doesn't feel like Steampunk - it has a much lighter and carefree atmosphere to it. Steampunk artwork almost always has a darker, duller color palette - and I'm glad you didn't skimp out on the colors here - it's very vibrant and rich. The composition adds even more to the dream-like element of this piece, and I especially like the chains, for the curves accentuate the floating aspect of the other props. Lovely work, I really can't find anything worth criticizing.

I've been looking for other people who included merry-go-rounds in their concentration pieces, and it looks like I finally found a drawing with one! I did a merry-go-round concentration so that's why! Anyways, this is beautiful. I love the decorations, details, and ornamentation!
