Someone gave me a 3-month subscription

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 22, 2010, 11:45 AM

I was quite surprised! I wonder who it was. Whoever it is, thank you SO much for the subscription! I was really missing it for a while.

I'm going to feature some works to spread around the cheer! Christmas IS coming up! And I'm turning 18 on January 1 (New Year's Day). GASP! ALREADY!

I'm hoping to do features every month. If you would like to be featured, just tell me, and I'll see what I can find in your gallery :)

FEATURES FOR DECEMBER
Fairytale Consequences Cinderella ran
     and the Beauty slept
Snow White was cased in glass
  as Thumbelina wept

Cinderella cleaned
   Briar Rose roamed free
Snow White was hated
as Rapunzel preened

My story's not a fairytale
  nor could it ever be
'cause life is not a fairy tale
you know as well as me

Yet sometimes
           somedays
there's magic in the air
         but only sometimes
just sometimes to be fair

Cinderella danced
  Princess Aurora told
Snow White
Day of Night, Sun to Moonlight  Very quiet on the grass,
slipping with weightess shadow-grace,
no breath and no fingers,
yet a glance of wind through the knife-trees,
under the flower-moon,
silver broken arrow
pierces sweet moonlight through you.

O death mine,
I can see you approach,
and yet you do not look
quite like
you have a substance
or a feeling...

Knife through my fingers
Heartbeat-flash of moonlight
arc of silver

Death can die.

I cannot cry,
for there is the wondrous
shadow-blood
slipping through the atoms
between luminous white
fingers of moonlight
shadows of nothing
only air,
and a breath of wind
sighs relief....

up,
final,
away.
Beauty Words brought forth
by tongue or pen
are found insufficient
to portray
the unique
gift of God
which is revealed
to any who
encounter her
presence.

Some might think
to call her “angel,”
but that word
stagnates, full of
cultural baggage
imbued with bad
theology and
expectations of
good-looking winged
people in togas
or precocious infants
with halos in pastel
cloud banks;
the fruit of such
shallow imaginations
utterly fails to
convey the suggestions
of an authentic
“other-worldly”
being of wonder
that you may
dare to imagine
as you inhale
the air of her
proximity.

So
Ode for our planet Somewhere in space.

The vast, dark frontier,

Lies the blue planet,

with the name Earth bestowed upon it.

Throughout the existence,

of the species called humanity,

we nurtured the planet with care,

and searched for new knowledge.

But eventually something went wrong,

we have forgotten how to coexist,

with the rest of our kind,

and many wars have been fought.

We suffered many losses,

and trusted no one,

we turned away from the darkness,

and shunned the light as well.

Killing others of our kind,

is abhorrent and unnatural,

we have to coexist to keep the balance,

that is the way things are and always will be.

I ask of you,

Chi

You have made my day! When I decided to do it, I remembered you always loved having a subscription, and I wanted to give it to someone who truly cares about it.
